Glory Mine
A mine was worked here from the 1770s and the present shaft on "New Glory" vein was sunk in the 1820s to a depth of 38 fathoms (76m). The mine was exhausted and stopped working in 1842.

This is the best preserved example of a horse gin site on Grassington Moor. A horse gin is a horse powered winding engine and although the gin has long gone the drawing below shows how the gin would have stood within the circular stone wall. The central axle hole can still be seen in the centre of the circle.

Many more examples of Gin Circles can be found on the Moor.
