This typical mine dam was part of the
extensive water management system which extended across the Grassington
and Yarnbury mines. This allowed the maximum power to be extracted by
sending it from site to site. Water came to this dam from the Low Grinding
Mill and went on to power the water powered pumps at Beevor Engine Shaft
before going on to another crushing mill.
